No gatekeeping here! Pine needle tea is super easy to make at home, as long as you have access to pine tree's and can clearly identify them.

Pine needle tea is a simple yet powerful way to enjoy the benefits of the forest in a cup. Packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, and a light citrusy flavor, this tea is a refreshing and nourishing herbal remedy.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon fresh pine needles (chopped)
- 2 cups hot (but not boiling) water
- Optional: Honey, lemon, or cinnamon for added flavor
Instructions:
- Identify & Harvest Your Pine Needles Ensure you’re harvesting from a safe, non-toxic pine species (such as Eastern White Pine, Red Pine, Spruce or Fir). Avoid yew trees, which are toxic. Collect fresh, green needles from high branches in a clean foraging area.
- Prepare the Pine Needles Rinse the needles thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris. Chop them into small pieces to help release their beneficial compounds.
- Heat the Water Bring water to just before boiling (around 160-180°F or 70-80°C). Boiling water can destroy some of the delicate vitamin C content in pine needles.
- Steep the Needles Place the chopped pine needles in a mug or teapot. Pour the hot water over them and let steep for 10-15 minutes. Cover the cup or pot to trap essential oils and maximize the benefits.
- Strain & Enjoy Strain out the needles and pour the tea into your favorite mug. Add honey, lemon, or cinnamon if desired for extra flavor and benefits.
